Since I’m a huge tech geek this has to be probably my favorite category. I can’t get enough of technology and gadgets. I’m also in love with photography which is why I carry half of this stuff anyway. Most people would be able to get away with the basic small digital camera but I need something more.  Adam: My most recent purchase was this Asus. I absolutely love this little guy. It’s super light, has enough power to take care of the blog, and the power brick is tiny. It fits so nicely in my bag I couldn’t be happier. The main issues I have however is the screen resolution and the lack of power it has to do anything Photoshop related. If I were to go on an extended trip (more than a month) I’d probably end up taking my 11.5″ Alienware. This netbook comes in three flavors; black, white, and blue.

 Adam: I try to always carry an external hard drive with me. They’re small, light, and can really save your bacon in a pinch. I normally store all my photos on my laptops hard drive and make a backup copy on the external. If I’m on an extended trip I’ll take 2-3 extra externals and will ship one home when it fills up. Once it makes it safe, I know I can delete the photos stored on my laptop. This drive comes in 500gb, 750gb, and 1tb. Generally the 500gb will do for most people.  Adam: I love this camera. For being borderline professional, it’s really a great buy. The ISO performance is pretty decent and when you combine that with a 16Mp sensor you can’t go wrong. To top it off, the HD video rocks! Super happy with this body.

 Adam:This little thing rocks. I took this guy to Thailand and it bounced around in my pocket and backpack everyday and never skipped a beat. It takes decent stills and alright HD video. The real kicker is that it shoots high speed video. Almost all the video in this short was shot with this camera.

 Adam: This lens rocks! That’s all I can say. For the price point I don’t think I could be happier. Great in low light and produces super clear images. For the money, it doesn’t get better than this. Not to mention it’s full frame.

 Adam: This lens is what is referred to as a ‘kit lens.’ It came with the camera and most people just brush it off as nothing special. It might not be amazing but it works and gets the job done. There is a bit of distortion around 105mm but overall it’s a great walking around lens. Description – Nikon’s AF-S DX Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens is a welcome addition to the Nikon DX-format DSLR systems, and an ideal counterpart to the D90 DSLR.
